Shark Tagging Technologies and the Challenges of Studying Sharks

Shark Tagging Technologies and Challenges to Studying SharksWhy is it that we know so little about an animal that has been around before the dinosaurs? It is only just recently that we have begun to discover the travel patterns of great white sharks in the Atlantic.  The reality is we needed engineers and scientist to build technology so we could learn more about this animal. You will learn about the current tagging technology used today and discuss limitations and future needs. What are limitations and risks for scientists?  Understand how communication skills play a huge role in marine research teams. Enter the shark tag challenge and build your very own neutrally buoyant receiver. Join in the fun team challenges throughout the day.  (6 hrs instruction) Pack a lunch, drink & snack.

Jr.Tech is excited to partner with the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy to deliver this workshop.
