Shark Tracking 2017
Engineering and Technology on How to Follow Shark Movement
It is only just recently that we have begun to discover the travel patterns of great white sharks in the Atlantic. Why is it that we know so little about an animal that has been around for so long? The reality is we needed the technology to be built, so we could learn more about this animal. You will learn about the current tags being used and how they allow us to track the movement of sharks. You will also learn about some of the challenges that are encountered with the current tag technology. Enjoy building your own shark tag and other hands-on activities while building an understanding of the technology and engineering behind tracking sharks! (6 hrs instruction) Pack a lunch, drink & snack.
Jr.Tech is excited to partner with the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy to deliver this workshop.
